Karl Melby

Karl Melby was born in Hong Kong in 1965 of Norwegian parents. The family moved a few years later to Italy, where the family stayed until 1970. Here the interest for fresh ice cream was established in the family. Italian food culture number one is ice cream (gelato), actually before pizza, as many would think as the number one. The love for Italian food and delicious ice cream has been with the family ever since. Karl has his university degree within Media & Communications, Economics, Business & Administration. In addition he has studied subjects as philosophy, music and language. In his profession he has worked within the oil industry, humanitarian aid and accounting. The he combination of an interest for numbers, finding a common playground with his children, and the love for ice cream has led him on this journey creating a unique concept that illustrates the many possible ways to make ice cream.
